The 8th grade class at CSR Academy is helping to get all of our Scholars pumped up to show what they know on the OAA! The OAA at CSR runs fromApril 23rd-26th, 2012. All 3rd-8th graders take the OAA.

KINDERGARTEN OPEN ENROLLMENT
CSR Academy is now enrolling kindergarten students for the 2012-2013 school year. To be eligible, students must turn 5 by September 30th.
All new kindergarten students receive a FREE LeapPad to use and keep during the 2012-2013 school year!

3rd Grade Fall OAA Testing – October 4th, 2011
On Tuesday, October 4th, all students in the 3rd grade will be taking the Fall version of the 2012 Reading Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA). Testing will take place from 9:30AM-12:30PM. We need 100% attendance for this assessment!
Results from this assessment will be available at the beginning of January.

First Day of School – Monday, August 15th, 2011
The first day of school for the 2011-2012 school year is Monday, August 15th, 2011.We have NEW SCHOOL HOURS; doors open at 7:30AM and students load buses in the afternoon at 5:10PM.
Students are tardy after 8:00AM; breakfast is served 7:30-7:50AM in the main building cafeteria.
All students should return to school in a plain white t-shirt and have the opportunity to earn their first school uniform shirt within the first week of school!
We can’t wait to see our Scholars and get the year started!

Summer Vacation – June 4th to August 14th, 2011
CSR Academy is on summer vacation from June 4th – August 14th, 2011. During the summer, the main building office will be open from 9:30AM-5:00PM; please stop in to re-commit, enroll new students, or just to say hi! All CSR students have been given summer reading and math work that needs to be completed and returned on the first day of school, which is August 15th, 2011. All incoming kindergarten students will receive summer welcome packets in late July – be on the look out!

Spring 2011 Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA) Dates
Students in grades 3-8 will be taking the Ohio Achievement Assessment this week. See below for dates and times:
- Monday, April 25th: Review Day
- Tuesday, April 26th: Testing 8-11AM
- Wednesday, April 27th: Testing 8-11AM
- Thursday, April 28th: Testing 8-11AM / Make-Up Testing
- Friday, April 29th: Make-Up Testing
Testing Week incentives are planned for Friday afternoon, from 12-3PM. In order to participate, students must have completed all sections of the OAA prior to Friday, April 29th, 2011, as well as met all criteria as set forth by homeroom teachers.

School-Wide Wake-Up Calls are HERE!
At CSR Academy, we believe that sending students to college is possible when you set NO EXCUSES in front of your achievement. We want to make sure that WE are doing everything possible to help set our Scholars up for success.
Beginning on FRIDAY, April 22nd, all CSR Scholars will begin receiving a daily wake-up call from CSR, between 5:00-6:00AM. Our automated system will be calling every phone number that we have on file for each child. If you need to ADD or REMOVE contact numbers from our database, please call the main line, at 513-651-9624.
Our new automated service will also be used to send out information about upcoming conference dates, testing dates, canceled school days, and other important school information.
We are so EXCITED to be adding this new service at CSR and happy to continue working with our families!

FINAL 21st Century SHOWCASE – Friday, April 22nd, 2011 / 7:30-8:30PM
CSR Academy is proud to announce that the FINAL 21st Century SHOWCASE is being hosted on Friday, April 22nd. Please see below for details: 
- Where: Boys and Girls Club, 1620 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45202
- When: Friday, April 22nd
- Time: 7:30-8:30PM; doors open at 7:00PM – seating is limited
- Ticket Costs: $1.00 per person (adults and children) at the door
Come support our CSR Scholars in their final SHOWCASE of the school year! Families will also have the opportunity to enroll for the 2011-2012 school year – spaces are limited!
All student participants will bring home a permission slip on Friday, April 15th, which must be returned no later than Tuesday, April 19th, in order to participate. Participating students need to be dropped off at CSR Academy between 6:00PM-6:15PM to prepare for the SHOWCASE on Friday, April 22nd.

Spring Break – April 4-8th, 2011
CSR Academy’s Spr
ing Break is the first full week of April. During this time, CSR will be closed.
All CSR students have mandatory Spring Break work to complete, which is due on Monday, April 11th. Spring Break packets are given for each subject – Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies, and should take students approximately 30 minutes per day of Spring Break to complete. Packets count as four homework grades per subject.

Progress Reports for Quarter 3
Progress Reports for Quarter 3 have been sent home with students. These need to be signed and returned to your students’ homeroom teacher, as they count for a homework grade. All students who have a C or lower are encouraged to meet with their classroom teachers to create a plan to increase their grades in these last four weeks left of Quarter 3.

Free Vision and Hearing Screenings
On February 10th and 28th, all CSR students will receive free vision and hearing screenings during the school day. Once this process is complete, students will be bringing home an information sheet that shows their individual results and recommendations from the physician.
